Questions for your healthcare professionals
Don't hesitate to ask questions and write down the answers to make sure that you have all of the information that you need to make an informed decision about participating in the Dignity study. You may like to consider the following points when talking to your physician or with your family and friends about participation:
- What is my goal in taking part in the study?
- What is the overall purpose of the study?
- How long will the study last?
- What other options do I have?
- What kinds of therapies, procedures and tests will I have during the trial, and would I have them if I did not participate in the trial?
- Will I be able to take my regular medications while in the trial?
- Where will I receive my medical care?
- How might being in this study affect my daily life?
- May I leave the trial at any time?
- Will I be told about the results at the end of the trial?
- Who is funding the trial?
- Will I have to pay anything if I take part (e.g. travel expenses, costs of tests and other treatments)
- Is there anything that I will not be allowed to do, or will have to stop doing, during the trial?
- Who can I talk to if I have more questions?
